Playing in creek in gatlinburg/pigeon forge?

Is there somewhere you can just take the kids to play in the creek? Or maybe pigeon river?

Was thinking about booking a hotel for tomorrow night near a creek but not real familiar with the hotels and areas.......Thanks...

There's quite a few places you can go. We like to take our kids to Chimney Tops picnic grounds. Also Mynatt Park in Gatlinburg has a stream that the kids can play in.

We stopped at many places on our way to Cades Cove and on Roaring Fork Road. We also went to Cherokee to play in the river.

Two great places to play in the water are at Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area and the Wye near Townsend.

We ended up and went to Cades Cove Picnic area- The kids loved the creek! It was really busy though- so I would suggest going EARLY if possible!

The Chimney Tops picnic area is on Newfound Gap Rd (441) about 5 miles or so past the Sugarlands Visitor Center. It's on the right hand side of the road going towards Cherokee.

Hi,

We went to Metcalf Bottoms picnic area this trip & found it to be a nice place to wade in the water. It really wasnt deep enough for swimming, but still a nice place to cool off.

Hope this helps!

Cades Cove wasn't that deep either......a few parts were deep enough to go under but most parts were under their knees..:)
