Will be going to TN the week of 2/17 and staying in pigeon forge. We are wondering how traffic is going to be getting from pigeon forge to gatlinburg. Please tell me it won't be a nightmare.

It shouldn't be much different than it is now, and there really isn't anyone here. Restaurants aren't close to full, you can drive 40 mph down the parkway in P.F., and do about anything you want without waiting anywhere. There will probably be quite a few people leaving on the 17th because of Valentines Day weekend, but it should be cleared out good after that.

That's why I love visiting in February when the kids are out for their winter break.

How about July? Is it better to stay closer to Gatlinburg and drive to PF or vice versa?

April B - We always stay in PF and when driving into Gatlinburg we've found it is best to go early in the day (like around 9-10 am). Hardly any traffic and easy to find a parking space. The later in the day you go, the more crowded it's going to be.

Thank you spdracr. If we spend the day in Gatlinburg and return in the evening/nightime, is the traffic also bad returning to PG?
