Gatlinburg Webcams

I don't understand why the city of Gatlinburg doesn't set up some HD webcams around town! There used to be some good downtown webcams, but they've been down for months. Other resort towns have nice webcams and I'm sure it would help boost tourism. Webcams are great!

Hacker, I 100% agree! I would even pay a monthly fee to have access to a variety of Gburg web cams.

The webcams that were down by Blaines and the other by Hogs n Honeys were great ones that's for sure.

The Downtown Mtn Mall webcam is the only one that gives a good view of the Parkway now. There are though some other great webcams that allow for great scenery views =-)

I really miss the web cam at Blaine's that was my favorite one. I would look at it at least twice a day and really on the weekends, I don't see why they don't fix them and get them up and running again.

There is a conversation here about offering a subscription for a high definition web-cam for $6.00 a year. The camera in Boone, N.C. is very impressive. They are asking how many people would be willing to sign up IF they offered the cams. I think this is an awesome deal for 50 cents a month. Since there are so many "regular" visitors to Gatlinburg, I think it would be doable.

I 100% agree with tnhacker and all of you. What I don't understand, is why the Convention & Visitors bureau doesn't put up some cams, the advertising benefit alone has got to be great. I've used all the cams that were scattered around town and most are down, even the Cabin Fever cam is down now on the space needle. I replied to the idea of paying for access, but frankly, I doubt enough people would subscribe on a continuing basis. The Titanic at Pigeon Forge has a controllable cam, but I really want to see G-burg. The Mountain Mall cam is good, but always aimed at exactly the same view and not real clear at a distance. It would be neat to have a controllable one at the top of the Incline on Crockett. I hope somebody does something soon, I'm suffering withdrawal pains!
