Staying at The Griya

Hi all,

we are staying at this new resort called The Griya.

http://www.thegriya.com/

The address is given as Amed, Bunutan Village, Karangasem – Bali

Any idea if we there is any restaurants or local warung within walking distance? Prefers not to depend solely on resort's offerings. Thanks!

Walk to the bottom of the hotel driveway, turn right and continue down the hill, around the right hand bend around the left hand bend and on another 200 metres (grand total of about 600 metres), you should safely reach Wayan's warung which has great food very cheap indeed.

Sails is the next bay over, they will collect you if you ring them . Quite flash food for this area, more modern Balinese.

There are also a couple of decent ones if you head the other way (north from the Griya). Try Waeni's and there is another whose name currently escapes me, left hand side above the road immediately after Anda Amed . Down the hill a little is The Grill.

Also Blue Moon at Selang has a very good restaurant. Lovely ocean view for lunch or watch the sun setting early evening & have dinner there. The staff are always welcoming & they will pick you up & return you to your hotel later if you phone & ask. I absolutely love their mango crumble with ice-cream!

Warung Enak in Amed village serves delicious meals but you'd need transport to get there.

Don't forget to head to the bay at either Jemuluk or perhaps closer to you with not quite as much fish life, pretty much outside Hidden Paradise (which is before you get to Wayan's) for good snorkelling also
