You are probably describing the top end of Amed, or the area known as Amed. It's actually a string of villages and quite spread out.

Have a look at Kembali Bungalows and other places in that area for snorkelling straight off the beach and wide variety of dining options within walking distance. The beach here is black sand.

The other area to consider would be Lipah Beach.

From Amed through to Jemuluk it is easy to find accommodation on or across the road from the beach ranging from 150.000-300.000rp depending if you want air con and pool. Lipah has a nice sandy beach, a few eating and staying options, the most restaurants are to be found from Amed to Jemuluk.

There are many choices!

We generally pay 25.000-40.000rp per main meal (as a guide), most restaurants in the area fall in this price range.

Enjoy

If you PM me with your email address I can send you an accommodation list with websites & prices. It's divided into the different areas of Amed. Are you looking for somewhere with a pool? There's lots of options in the Amed village area either beachside or just across the road from the beach. Snorkelling is good off the beach infront of Kembali Bungalows/Amed cafe. There are plenty of dining options & there's a shop at Amed Cafe which sells snack foods, soft drinks, wine & bintang.
