Prices for Tailor made items- what have you paid??

Hi everyone - been to bali 4 times and always done lots of shopping. Have had some shorts made for the kids at work, bt never had anything made at the tailors for me. Now I have a couple of events comming up and think maybe I could use a few things.

I hate going into bargain when i don't know what is fair. So any one who has bought from the tailors can you give me rough idea:

Work pants / suit pants

Zip up dress cotton / linin knee length with lining

Suit jacket to match dress

Silk pj's

white work shorts

Thanks every one :)

I found that it's not only the tailor determining the prices, but also the quality of the fabric which can vary considerably.

I've had a number of suits made over the years and the last time a three piece, skirt, jacket & pants was just over $100. The fit and workmanship is great and the fabric is lightweight, but very nice

hi melbcowgirl

I have had a few items from your list made whilst in bali.

The 1st time, I had a suit made, skirt, jkt, pants, picked a rayon like material, and chose the style from witchery catalogue, and paid $95.

Last year I purchased 2 suits, short sleeve, jkt & skirt, lined, and also a pair of all leather boots, I paid $150 for everything. Suits are great quality, nice lightweight for summer, boots are fantastic, only thing is that i am a heavy heeled walker and i broke the strutts in them so needed them replaced. (taking them back when im there in oct, tailor has aagreed to fix them).

cheers, hope this helps

Where are the best tailors ? I'm going to Sanur and Ubud, so wondered if there are good tailors in these areas.

I'm curious about this too.

I would like a suit for each of my two boys (12 and 8) and was planning on going to Brisbane Tailors.

What sort of price do you think I would be looking at? Would it be better to bring my own fabric (pick up from Alta Moda?)?
