dragos or acme oyster?

I have a limited time in town and really want good seafood and wanted to see which of these is better Dragos or Acme Oyster? We are staying close to both locations.

Nothing to recommend on Drago's menu but the oysters. Acme often has a long line. I would opt for Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar on Bienville or Redfish Grill. The BBQ Shrimp at Mr. B's Bistro are excellent and almost legendary. GW Fins has probably the best fish and seafood in New Orleans. All in the French Quarter and all take reservations. I would peruse the menus to see what appeals to you.

I'll add Deanie's as well, but haven't been in years and like Acme, there can also be a long wait.

Sorry, the dinner menu on Mr. B's site is incorrect. Shows their Sunday Brunch menu. Hopefully they'll correct that.

Although I really enjoy the charbroiled and raw half shell oysters at the bar or oyster bar at Drago’s in the Hilton Riverside, have found the rest of the food offerings to be mediocre at best.

There are so many seafood offerings, the “best” restaurant will depend on the desired type (fish, oysters, shrimp, crab, etc.), and the preparation (fried, broiled, sautéed, blackened, boiled, etc.).

With over 150 Restaurants in the French Quarter, most of them serve incredible Seafood. It's everywhere in New Orleans.

We love Felix's Oyster Bar and Restaurant, 727 Iberville St, directly across the street from Acme's. To us, it's the real deal. Reminds me of the oyster bars I went to with my family as a child. It's not fancy but it's oh so good.

Between those two, I would opt for ACME, but would also prefer Felix’s.

Did have an OK Lunch at Drago’s recently, but had Gumbo and Fried Shrimp, and not their Oysters.

Enjoy,

Only order lobster and the charbroiled oysters at Dragos so for seafood try Felix's or Acme in that area.

We recently had oysters at Acme, Dragos, and Felix.

Our favorite for oysters was Dragos. Sad it has to be in a hotel atmosphere.

The bright white atmosphere at Felix was a turn off. It felt like we were in a factory.

Atmosphere at Acme was great as always, but seemed like it went down hill a bit. it was not quite as clean as in the past.
