Carriage Ride?

I haven't read much about Carriage rides on this forum....but they were just mentioned in a 'top 5 things-to-do post.

Does anyone have any more information: cost, where to catch one....maybe a link to a site.

Thank you!

They are available in front of Jackson Square, near Cafe du Monde. Rates can vary based on how many people and how long a ride you want.

Can you 'ballpark' me a price for 2 people taking a trip 'round the quarter?? I take it they are not price-fixed, like taxis?

Me & my cousin got on a carriage with another family of 4 people and we paid $12 each. For just two people I think it was like $60. We just hung around Jackson Sq. until someone else wanted a ride as well. They try to fill the carriage if they can.

I think it is $60 per half hour and that can be split by the number of people in the carriage (plus tip of course). We have always enjoyed the carriage rides but make sure that you get a guide that you can hear...once we had a guide that none of us could hear at all!
