Omni Royal Crescent on Gravier St.

Hello all -

We were able to find a good deal for a three weekend night at the Omni Royal Crescent on Gravier St. I looked at the map and it seems to be a little off of the FC. Would this pose a problem regarding getting around the city on foot? Also, it has great ratings on TA but would like to know if anyone has any additional information on the hotel. Thanks!

you're a five minute walk from the Quarter--you won't have any problems with getting around! Haven't stayed there, but I'm sure someone will be able to help on that topic!

We stayed there for 4-5 days pre-K and found it to be a very nice hotel. A 2-3 minute walk to Canal St. then you're at the edge of the Quarter. If you find yourself too far afield, grab a taxi back, as walking back and forth from Gravier over a few days will add up.

ORC is a great hotel in a good location. Even though it's not in the FQ it is close enough that you will only walk 4/10 minutes to get to your favorite places there. And it's also close to great restaurants in the CBD like Bon

Ton, Cochon, Domenica, Luke, Lil Dizzy's and Emeril's. Have a good time and enjoy your trip.

Have stayed close by (International House and La Quinta), and have visited a room at the Omni Royal Crescent. Though nothing particularly special, the Crescent is very nice. Although the location is not great in that you will have a couple extra blocks to walk to/from the Quarter, this is a relatively minor inconveniece. If you will be using the St. Charles streetcar and/or visiting places in the Central Business and/or Warehouse/Arts Districts, including Harrah's, as a primary component of your stay, this is a good compromise location.
