Anyone know how Grandpa Elliott is doing and he is he still perfoming around Jackson Square?
Some of the locals may know him by name, I do not. If you happen to have a link to a picture, (could post on a site that allows links), some of the more frequent visitors may recognize and be able to answer your question. If that is not a possiblity, maybe a description of his costume/act and where in the Jackson Sq area you typically see him.
Don't know....seems to be getting a little notoriety though....released an album last October....here are some nice youtube videos:
Saw him 2 weeks ago on the corner of Toulouse and Chartres..Tipped him and he played some blues for me.
Thanks for the link Fitch, definitely going to look for him.
Grandpa generally is on the corner of Toulouse and Chartres now. He rarely goes to the square.
Doy you know if he has any special hours that he prefers over others?
Sorry for the silly typo!!!
Grandpa plays in front of Rouses's Market (corner of Royal & Toulouse). Usually I have seen him at night, not too late (maybe between 6:00-10:00?). Ask him to sing Sam Cooke's "a change is gonna come"...beautiful!
