Best Fudge in the French Quarter?

I'd like to get my husband some great fudge for Christmas next week. Where in the French Quarter should I get it? We'll also be hitting Sucre in the Garden District so that is also an option.

Sucre is great (try their macaroons) and Southern Candymakers has wonderful sugary treats, too....I haven't had fudge at either place, but I'd be willing to bet that both of them do fudge well, too. You could probably sample some and decide

I have had the fudge at Southern Candymakers and it is really good!!!!! I'm trying to keep away from Sucre--especially after seeing pics of it because it looks too dang delicious!!!

As a Plan B - If you're not locked into fudge, remember pralines go hand-in-hand with New Orleans!

Ccolor, you took the words right out of my mouth. I love a good chocolate praline.

I also think fudge is fudge. If I can make it, anyone can; however, The Fudgery is kinda fun. They make it in front of you and give you a taste, then it's often served to you still warm - that's what I like about it. Not the BEST in the world, just the way they serve it up. Southern Candymakers is a favorite of my mother in law's and she's really into all kinds of fudge and other "normal" candies. You'll want to get fancier stuff at Sucre, especially for what they charge, but it's worth the experience.
