Well... Last day in NOLA. Sad to say we have to be in bed early enough as we'll be driving out tomorrow at 4am CT. We're already outside of town this morning, on Safari.
I will not share too many details about our Coypu exploits as I appear to have attracted attention... Suffice to say, we're about to get out there for about a 4 hour hunt.
We will be up for the parade tonight and have already scouted out our spot along the route. Still figuring out where to have our last 2 NOLA meals... Depends when we get back to town I suppose.
Things we did not do: helicopter tour (decided to save the money), cruisers (they really are small and slow), the ferry (didn't see the point, not much to see/do), Acme (lineups all the time and Felix's was awesome), any of the famous NOLA mixed drinks (as per my previous posts, I stick to beer and liquor)...
There are still 2 days left to this story as we make our way home starting tomorrow but the verdict is in on NOLA. It's a great town to visit but in a world of so many great towns I doubt I will return... Travel (and life) really is what you make of it... NOLA was a great host for 4 days and we thank her for that. Next year's winter road trip will probably be to Texas (bang bang).
I can see why this place has some people coming back, the folks are friendly, good food is plentiful and there is a lot to do.
If it was possible to rate tourist destination cities on Trip Advisor, NOLA would get 4.5 stars (out of 5) from me.
