Are you planning to eat them shortly after you get them? Asking because beignets do not keep for any time at all. As for where, I only know the main places people go- Cafe du Monde and Cafe Beignet.

This will look ridiculous I know but beignets are treated kind of like royalty in my family. I'd go to Cafe DuMonde as inconvenient to drive there as it is. Drive on S. Peters toward the Quarter from Harrah's, S. Peters becomes N. Peters after you cross Canal and it turns into Decatur a couple blocks later, let one person off at Cafe DuMonde, just after you have passed Jackson Square. Take a chance on pulling into one of the parking spaces reserved for businesses on Decatur and wait for your other party, or go around several blocks and come back and pick them up. Order at the to-go outside window and make sure you order two separate sacks - one with beignets and the other with powdered sugar. Keeping them separate is important on to-go orders. If you eat in the car, drop a beignet into the sugar sack and shake just before eating one. I suggest you buy several orders and take them home for friends and family but keep them all separate from the sugar. It's best to order a separate sugar bag for each order of beignets (3 in each order). When you get home put just a slight sprinkle of water drops on the beignet and heat it up, then when hot, drop in sugar sack and shake - you won't believe how good they are. There could be a line at the to-go window but it is worth the wait.

Cafe Beignet on Royal could be the closest. You can reheat them easire if they are not sugared.

Interesting as I've tried multiple ways to reheat beignets and they're always pretty gross compared to when they are fresh!

Cafe Du Monde has a stand inside the Riverwalk Marketplace just on the Mississipi of Harrah's. Might save you a trip inside the Quarter.
