Zydeco at Rock and Bowl

A must do! Not far from the French Quarter, ride was cheap, and the locals make you feel at home! Thursday is the night to go, do not miss this! Do not judge either. Some woman sat at our table with her daughter. This hoity toity lady snickered until they left. Remember, this is not a tourist trap. This is the real deal music, the people a warm, inviting, and dance like I have never see in my life! They had us all dancing all night! If you can't dance, so what! Nobody danctes the same out there, but bring a hanky, stuff it in your pocket, and be ready to sweat your tushy off! If your partner doesn't feel like a turn on the floor, no worries! These folks will be asking you out there all night! The kids are out danced by the adullts, which is a site to see in itself!

I agree with every word you said. I went last year and can't wait to go back this year. I just remember being totally jealous that everyone has that much fun. Everyone dances with everyone..... age, race, gender aside. Best time!

So glad you both had a great time. It's off the beaten path, but very Louisiana. And where else can you hear a band and bowl a game?

Any good, casual restaurant suggestions in the area or on the way from the French Quarter? We were planning on Vaughn's Thursday night but Kermit's out of town. : ( This sounds like a good alternative. Thanks.

Ye Olde College Inn is right next door. It was a traditional local favorite that was bought by the Rock & Bowl owner, and freshened up a good bit. Rock & Bowl is a great place to see Kermit--enjoy!

Unfortunately no Kermit. He is in New York for the time we will be in New Orleans. Our bad luck as usual. But the Zydeco at the Rock and Bowl sounds like a fun Thursday night instead.

So, would the Rock and Bowl be a good place to take our teens when we're in town in July?

yes, we've taken our kids several times. If you want to bowl (in addition to listening to music), you should reserve a lane ahead of time.

We had a blast here on our recent trip. We ate at Mandina's first and then cabbed over to the Rock N Bowl. You are so right about the adults out-dancing the kids! What a fun time we had. Here is a link to a video on Youtube of Cory Ledet and all the wonderful dancing. Hope this works.
