Beignets and Cafe au Lait's at Cafe du Monde right on Decatur!! DH and I are going to be in NOLA for 3 days in May and anticipate having our breakfast under that iconic green and white canopy every morning! It's a bit unoriginal, but it's so delicious! :)

Stanley's is great....try Red Gravy also. At RG, no matter what breakfast item you order, get a side of the meatballs....yum!

Close to the French Quarter in the CBD: Red Gravy, Ruby Slipper

Actually in the French Quarter: Nosh (great sweet potato pancakes), Stanley, Vacherie

I haven't eaten there, but Meals From the Heart Cafe located in the French Market also gets high reviews.

Close to the French Quarter in the Marigny: Cake Cafe

I enthusiastically agree with most everything above. Since I want some protein (meat) for breakfast, we usually prefer Cafe du Monde for a late night snack. For a 24/7 very casual table service restaurant with full service bar and offering a relatively quick full breakfast, we enjoy Deja Vu on Dauphine St.

My wife and I enjoyed the brunch in the courtyard @ The Court of Two Sisters on Royal. The food was okay, but sitting under that huge Wisteria, partially in bloom, wonderful! The brunch is served buffet style daily.

You have gotten some great suggestions, have this to offer, if you go to Red Gravy and they have Shrimp Beignets on the menu, get it. Have to warn you, I suspect she puts heroin in them, OMG, almost unbelievable.
