Dessert recommendation

No, I don't live in the world of bread pudding exclusively, though it might appear so sometimes.

Yesterday, I had the most awesome dessert at Root. Now I don't know how seasonal their desserts are (one I had back in May wasn't on the menu now), but if you see this one in the menu, I recommend you give it a try.

From Root's website:

Blueberry Orange Blossom Clafoutis

Earl Grey Tea Sable, Sour Cream Cardamom Ice Cream, Blueberry Vacherin, Purple Croquant,

Lemongrass Curd, Violet Blueberry Foam: 10

One of the most complex and yet very well balanced desserts I've had in a while.

Rodent, Lopez also has a thing called the edible terrarium he was handing out at NOWFE. It was pretty amazing - foie gras, flowers, berries and I don't know what but it was so cool. I think he has it on the summer menu now. Did you try the scallops? So good - and this from someone who is not crazy for them. He also has the best pastrami sandwich in NOLA at lunch.

I was thinking of you today because I had brunch at Rivista and they had two of your favorites on the same plate: a savory duck confit along with a peach bread pudding topped with poached farm eggs. It worked!

I guess I'm pretty bland. The Creole Cheesecake at Irene's or the pecan pie at The Court Of Two Sisters...other than that I don't eat dessert.

Sounds interesting Rodent. You are far more adventerous than I am :)
