Balcony parties during Mardi Gras 2014: Is it worth it?

Is it worth it to do a balcony party during Mardi Gras?

The one I am thinking of is Bourbon Vieux.

We will be there from Saturday, March 1st and leave early Wednesday, and really going for the different parades. When I look at the parade schedules none pass by this way.

Is a a good idea to do this for one day or evening, and does anyone have any experience with one?

Thanks.

I did see previous posts on this but from a few years back.

You say none of the parades will pass your way. Where will you be?

It's really hard to say without knowing a bit more, like...how much does it cost? Where is it? What is included in the price?

I know the prices etc. I already looked into it.

Just wondering if it is worth going to.

This place is on Bourbon St.

Parades don't go down Bourbon Street. So if seeing the parades is the focus of your trip, I don't see this event as being a good fit for you.

Thanks. I figured that. I saw on the maps of the different parades they were mainly on St. Charles..and closer to my hotel then this place. Just wasn't sure if the party atmosphere was worth it or not.

EVERYWHERE will be a party atmosphere. Many of the Bourbon balconies are rented out and on a fee basis during MG, but you can still get I to a few to look over the crowds with just a drink purchase. I'd say if youve got the extra cash it would be fun, but of its a large

I'd say if youve got the extra cash it would be fun, but of its a large part of your budget skip it because fun is not hard to come by during MG! We enjoyed drinks on the balcony of Saints and Sinners last year and there was no fee I know. We also went to another but I can't remember the name. I will say however, if your hotel isn't in the quarter, a private party may be nice just for the bathroom access alone!

Thanks. I am just so excited. My daughter gets married in October. Going to see Ozzy in August. But all I can think about is Mardi Gras in March! I may splurge for it...or I may do the Orpheuscapade though that means packing formal wear and I am sure more money.
