Tropical Storm watch just issued for the Metropolitan New Orleans Area as of 8:30 AM CDT. Hurricane Watch if effect for Grand Isle, LA.
they always predict BAD, coz it's "news-worthy" then. I've been tracking this through the National Hurricane center site. It doesn't seem as bad as tv people like to predict
Deja Vu and I'm not happy about it!! This can't possibly happen to us 2x's...so therefore THERE WILL BE NO STORM!!!!
It's still a tropical storm. Hurricane watches mean hurricane conditions are possible in the next few days. I think the forecast says it will become a hurricane but then fall back down to tropical storm strength as it nears the coast. If New Orleans stays on the left side of it, no biggie.
This is the model I just saw on Facebook: weather.com/news/weather-hurricanes/tropical…
"Hurricane watches are now in effect from Grand Isle, La., to Indian Pass, Fla. However, these watches do not include metropolitan New Orleans."
Oh, I hope not!!! We're scheduled to arrive on Saturday afternoon...
i saw this on the news while at the gym....i sure hope they are wrong...fingers crossed!
We are also arriving Saturday afternoon.
I assumed light rain gear would be necessary, but should we bring heavier rain gear?
The weather model shows sunshine by Monday.
Hope that is true.
