Visiting with children- accommodations suggestions?

We are a family of five- our children are 11,8, and 15 months. We are thinking of driving down to New Orleans April 13-19. Any suggestions for places to stay? Quiet is important, so that our youngest will sleep, and our limit is 200/night. A pool for the older kids would be nice, but not a must. They will enjoy walking the neighborhoods, museums, aquarium, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated!

We enjoyed staying at Le Richelieu with our kids; it's in a quiet section of the FQ that is still close to everything. They also have a pool.

When my nephews were about that age, we had a family trip to New Orleans. We all stayed at the Homewood Suites on Poydras, which worked really well. It may not be considered "New Orleans-ish" and it is 2 (longish) blocks to the French Quarter, but you will have a full size fridge and a microwave so you can bring some things (drinks, snacks) etc. to keep the kids happy, they serve breakfast every morning and there is a manager's reception on week nights - I believe a few cocktail options and some snacky foods (they served gumbo a couple of nights when we were there). The pool is indoors so the weather won't affect swimming. Lots of room in a 2 queen bed suite (with sofa bed). If you can move your dates one day later, you can get it for $179/night (non-cancelable) or $199/night cancelable.

Assuming that all 5 of you will be staying in the same room, try the Place D'Armes Hotel. It is in the French Quarter, at the corner of Jackson Square. They have room that open up to the courtyard, which means mom and dad can be sitting outside having a beverage while the kids are sleeping. We only an issue with noise 1 night out of 8. They also have some very large rooms. The room my family had last October was huge. You could put a crib in there, and still have all kinds of floor space. It was in the back of the main courtyard. Maybe call them directly and ask for a bigger room. The room was a 2 bed, the # being 120, 122....can't exactly remember, but around those numbers.
