If you walk to Canal and St Charles, the St Charles streetcar will take you to Garden District and Delmonico's
Streetcar to the Garden District. Easy walk to WW II Museum from your hotel.
Or you can take the streetcar to within a block of the WWII museum, too. $1.25 each, one way, or one can buy a $3 each, day pass and ride as many times as needed. Use correct change, if possible. If not, you will receive a credit slip, not cash change. There is a machine at the entrance of the car and the conductor will help you.
So how long should we plan for the walk from Provencial to St Charles. How long of a ride on the st car to Delmonico. Does the st car stop very close. Does the st car run for the ride back to canal too or would we taxi. It shouldn't be all that late. We are hoping to do happy hour then dinner. I will make a reservation.
Royal St. in the Quarter becomes St. Charles once you cross Canal. You are 9-10 short blocks from St. Charles. Delmonico is at 1300 St. Charles, so depending on how many people get on/off at any given stop, it will be a short ride and not take long. Yes, the streetcar stop is close by the restaurant. The streetcars will be running for your trip back. $1.25 each way for each person or $3 each for an all day pass in case you want to go other places on the lines as well. Correct change is best since you only get a credit back, no cash back.
Also meant to suggest you might want to go to neworleansonline.com for maps of the neighborhoods...shows streetcar lines, too.
