are there enough runs for a weeks skiing?

When reading up om Filzmoos it appears to have only 12km of runs. Is this enough for a weeks skiing for some of my party who are intermediate skiiers?

Does anyone knlow how it compares to Hochgurgl or Obertauern as a resort?

Thanks

Filzmoos is a charming village. the skiing is certainly not extensive - I think an intermediate skier who likes to ski new runs all the time would potentially start to get fed up after 2-3 days. However, this is part of the charm. It is never busy and the snow is generally better than the surrounding area. It's perfect for beginners or nervous intermediates. Everything comes down to the village so great for mixed groups who want to meet at lunch. It has good hotels, good apres-ski etc. Filzmoos gets around it's size by running a winter shuttle bus up to Flachau and Flachauwinkl (it takes about 20 mins). These resorts are also part of Ski Amade, so are covered by the lift pass, and are entry points to a vast ski area. It's not as high as the other two you mention. I haven't been to Hochgurgl but would prefer Filzmoos to Obertauern despite much less skiing. We now stay in other parts of Ski Amade but generally go to Filzmoos for a day.

No, it does not compare at all to Obertauern or Hochgurgl it is very much smaller!

Look here:

http://www.bergfex.com/obergurgl-hochgurgl/

Also Obertauern and Hochgurgl are much safer concerning having enough snow.

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl located at the end of the Oetztal at approx. 2000 m elevation and is a grandiose ski resort with over 200 km of various pistes for all levels. Snow guaranteed and great ski/après-ski atmosphere. Go there.

12 km at Filzmoos for a week ? your party will be stiff bored after 1 day.

Just returned from Filzmoos 4th time my two children 8yrs and 10yrs skied every run on sat. It has been a fantastic place to get my children to learn to ski over the years but has been not the most taxing place for me, but a taxi to wagrain (40euros E.W) and a bus to Flacau tues, wed.thurs 9.00 and 10.15 can give a bit more to ski. The plus side is there are never any queues and you can all meet for drinks and eats.
