Schafberg Cog Railway

We will be staying @ Hotel Garni Schernthaner @ St Gilgen in Sept and would like to take the Schafberg cog railway up to Schafberg Mountain. How far is the station from St Gilgen and would there be a bus plying in St Gilgen to the station where we can board the cog railway? How much is the fare please on the cog railway?

Thanks!

The Schafbergbahn is located in St. Wolfgang. From St. Gilgen you can get the lake ferry boat across to St. Wolfgang and the location of the valley station for the railway.

you can check here for fares, schedules.

Great info...

Would like to ask do the ferry in question run in wintertime? We are hoping to stay in St Gilgen over Christmas...

Any good places to stay in? As we are a group of 15 people...

Vielen Dank!
