Local, causal Burger place downtown

Looking for local burger place in the downtown area. My younger son loves to try local burger places as we travel around the country. I am not looking for up scale type place but rather a easy local place where locals go!

You'll get some ideas from any of these (choose fairly recent) articles... Dick's is mentioned, it's a Seattle "classic", read about it, but it's not got the fat, juicy burgers some, like me, enjoy.

Local places where locals go won't be downtown. Downtown is high rent, stuff catering to office workers and tourists. Instead, take the local #5 bus to upper Fremont (43rd and Fremont Ave) and go to Uneeda Burger. It's fantastic, great burgers (using quality meat) and sides, amazing shakes, and wildly popular. Red Mill is another beloved place. And Dicks is a local favorite cheap fast food burger place with multiple locations.

For a local burger I'd suggest Dick's Drive In http://www.ddir.com/locations No downtown locations, but nearby on Queen Anne or Capitol Hill. Another favorite is Burgermaster in the U District. http://www.burgermaster.biz/

For downtown burgers I like Red Robin http://www.redrobin.com/ on the waterfront (Pier 55) or Gordon Biersch www.gordonbiersch.com/locations/seattle… in Pacific Place mall. Both are chain restaurants, but have really good burgers.

We're fans of Johnny Rocket's in the Pacific Place Mall. Tasty burgers as well as fries, onion rings and shakes/malts.

Lunchbox laboratory in eastlake or Brgr Bar in pioneer square are also good local options as well.

Red Mill is one of the favorites in town. You can get one at the Totem if you go to the Locks in Ballard.

Even though I don't like Dick's much, my friends always end up taking me there for burgers.

Check out the Two Bells Tavern in Belltown. Excellent!
