Washington Coast line

Hello anyone ever drive from Seattle to the coast and cruise along the coast? We are thinking of doing that but not sure what's the best route to do and see, then head to Boise Idaho from there. Is it possible. Any suggestions?

Very little of Hwy 101 hugs the Washington coastline, and frankly, it's not much of a scenic drive.

If you want breathtaking coastal views, head south to Oregon where 101 offers plenty of oceanscapes -- especially from Cannon Beach to Tillamook, and from Depoe Bay to the Florence area. The far southern Coast from about Port Orford to Brookings may be the most spectacular of all, but that's a long, long way from Seattle.

This map will illustrate how little of the Washington coast runs near the ocean.
