What is the dollar amount of "fairly inexpensive" to you? Will you have a car? Do you want to be more downtown, midtown, airport? Don't care or know?

$100 - $150 In Alaska that may be dirt cheap. Will have a car part of the time.

Don't know the town so don't care or know. We will fly in about 7:30 in the evening, so we will spend that night and 2 more there, drive to Denali for 3 and then back to Seward for 2 before flying out.

My favorite is the Oscar Gill House run by Mark and Susan Lund. Terrific beds and linens, spacious common areas, gorgeous garden, bikes and a great breakfast, all walking distance to downtown and very close to the coastal trail and New Sagaya City Market. www.oscargill.com/ Also good, but more expensive, is the Copper Whale Inn right downtown. Happy travels.

I highly recommend the Lake Hood Inn in Anchorage. We have stayed on two different occasions, and loved it both times! It is impeccably clean, and right on the waterfront of Lake Hood. The balcony room allows you to enjoy the float plane traffic along with your morning coffee. It may be a little more than $150, but the 'home away from home' feel is worth every dime. Great place for aviation enthusiasts!

Thank you all. We cut our time down to 2 nights. Several places we checked were already booked so we made reservations at a place called "The Walkabout" We will do a review afterwards.
