Cruise Travel Agent

When booking our first all-inclusive trip to Mexico, we found a great travel agent on Tripadivsor forums. We have since used her for several trips and recommended her to others as well.

Planning a 2014 Alaskan Cruise, probably on Princess (but still open). Can anyone recommend a travel agent?

Thanks,

Brian

Why don't you ask a local friend for one. Who we use as our travel agent may be of no use to you. Surely, you would want to know the person who is suggesting. Ours is in Sacramento. However, if you want the information, send me a private message, so we don't turn this forum into a commercial thing.

I have had such good luck with our Texas based travel agent (we are in Kentucky) on our Mexican trips...far more so than any of the local travel agents I have used. She was really a "specialist" when it came to Mexican all-inclusives. We conducted all of our business by email and phone.

I was hoping to find a similar specialist for Alaska and our cruise. Essentially, someone who truly loves the area, has been multiple times and can give advice based on expierence...not quoting from a brochure.

I am in agreement not that commercialaiztion of tripadvisor is not good and will send you a PM.

Thanks,

Brian

I would think if you have already researched Princess, I would just booked directly with them. Don't do a land tour with them though - you are better booking that yourself, as Alaska is easy to plan/tour on your own. :)

www.alaskatravel.com - they will organise absolutely everything for you or just a part of your trip. They were very professional in the dealings I had with them just for a few trips & transfers.

coalminer - there is advantage to book directly withj Princess, and often a travel agent can give you a better price and quirks too

Many years ago we booked several cruises through AAA........same price as booking directly but we also received shipboard credits, an extra $200 per person can sure come in handy......

Whichever travel agent you choose, make sure they have actually been to Alaska.....that is a huge benefit......

Most agree that the best value and experience on your land portion will be doing in on your own, seeing and doing exactly what you want at your own pace and without being herded around with a large group of others.......by the time your cruise is finished you will be glad to strike out on your own !

She's not an agent but Budget Queen who posts on this site and on www.cruisecritic.com gives great cruise advice. She has been on many Alaska cruises. Check out some of her posts for suggestions.
