What type of food? Breakfast, lunch, dinner? Did you look at TA's top rated restaurants? Sometimes that is helpful. How many days are you in Anchorage?

Will you have transportation?

If not, the City Diner is nearby.

So is the Beartooth Grill: http://beartoothgrill.freshalepubs.com/

Thanks coal miner and AKStafford. We are looking for dinner. We get on the cruise on Saturday, so we might miss all the hoopla for the Solstice unfortunately. I have looked on TA but I wanted a native's opinion 😄

Also, there are just so many in TA it's hard to choose!

Yes, but will you have your own rental car for transportation?

Ichin,

My favorites are Bear Tooth (bar, dinner interesting place), Mooses Tooth (pizza), those two are kind of in midtown, down town: Orso (beef, fish, seafood), which is a little more expensive and Humpys, which is kind of a beer and burger, sports place.

Have fun!

Anchorage has excellent ethnic restaurants, most of which aren't super expensive. I like Thai Orchid on Lake Otis (everything there is delicious), Pho Vietnam on Jewel Lake or Benson (they serve a lot more than pho, but I'd stay away from the Thai offerings), Pete's Sushi (more expensive than others, but very tasty) in the mall on Benson and Minnesota, Home Town Korean in same mall as Pete's Sushi, and Yak and Yeti (Nepalese/Tibetan) on Spenard (not the Y&Y Cafe on Northern Lights).

Correct name is Peter's Sushi Spot, not Pete's Sushi

Another vote for City Diner if you don't have transportation.

If you do.

Kriner's Diner.
