24hr in Springfield

I will be in Springfield for a night in June as part of our Route 66 trip, we will be arriving on a Thursday afternoon and leaving the following day around lunchtime. Any suggestions on the best things to see and do whilst here and where is best to grab a bite to eat on the Thursday evening and lunch on Friday to set us up for our onward journey!

Without knowing your interests, it's difficult for us to offer suggestions of what to see/do.

You should visit the Lincoln Museum and the tomb without a doubt; plenty of other sites depending on your interests and amount of time. Depending on where you stay, it's possible to walk to some of the sites. As for restaurants, if you want to try the Springfield-favorite horseshoe sandwich, I suggest D'Arcy's Pint (best IMO) or Charlie Parker's.
