December 27th through the 29th with stay at the Jefferson

Will the museums and tours be closed for the holidays? Are there trolleys available for sightseeing? Is private transportation a must? Great restaurants in area? Interested in history, antiques, shopping, and the unusual and off the beaten path.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on Boulevard is open every day, even Christmas, and is free except for special exhibitions. The Jefferson main restaurant LeMaire is fabulous. Amuse is restaurant at the museum and is very highly reviewed. Can Can in Carytown, Acacia in Carytown are also great restaurants. Wheezies in Carytown is more relaxed restaurant and has more comfort food. Try and catch a movie at the historic Byrd Theatre, that is also open every day of the year. Lots of the museums are open with some holiday programs.

ask at the Jefferson if the hotel shuttle is available to take gusts to Carytown or museum. Also all hotel to check about any tacky lights toys, Richmond is home to many highly illuminated homes!
