Good morning Gogo Ohio,
Well for restaurants I can suggest the following, some are award winning ones and some should win awards!
Pane e Salute (award winning Italian wine selection), The Lauren Inn, The Jackson House and Simon Pearce. For an amazing festival of food to excite the senses with a very impressive wine cellar Hemmingway's just up the road in Killington offers a truely incredible dining experience. At the other end but equally enjoyable is the Long Trail brewery open from 11.00 - 18.00 just outside of West Bridgewater
Chesse shops - Sugar Bush farm and Frog City at the Calvin Coolidge Homestead. The South Woodstock water buffalo also does tours
Hiking - Mount Tom from the village centre walk right into a National Park at the Marsh Billngs Rockefeller museum.

Consider a day trip to Hanover and Quechee if the weather does not play ball. Also the Bridgewater Mill is worth a trip to she the Shackelton/Thomas furniture/pottery factory. Amazing care in hand producing the product.
