Travel w/ kids up I75,good place to refuel and run around?

I will be traveling north from Valdosta to TN on I75 in August, with 3 young kids. Suggestions for good places for families to stop where we can get gas as well as maybe let them run around for a few minutes? Are there any areas to avoid stopping in? Best rest stops for traveling families?

The state parks are your best option, but may be off the beaten path a bit. You will encounter "state rest areas" along the way that will just provide a bathroom, vending machines, and picnic tables:

I would suggest Lane Orchards in Fort Valley (just below Macon), or the outlet stores in Locust Grove (between Atlanta and Macon).

Also as you probably know this already but kids love the play areas at McDonald's and Chick Fil-A's.
