extemely safe! charming small southern town with serious antibellum roots. it is the town sherman refused to burn in his 1864 march to the sea. many home places remain from the period, a quint downtown with antique nooks, shopping and restaurants cordially welcomes visitors from near by and far away. either the wingate or the holiday inn will see to your needs admirally. embrace the charm the city has to offer.

more luxurious accomodations are available right down the road at lake oconee. the ritz carlton is there and has a fabulos resort lakeside. greensboro to madison can't be but some odd 20 miles.
