We are travelling to Barcelona for 4 nights next August and were going to go on to Begur for 10 nights for our Honeymoon. We have read the great reviews about Rosa, but were just wondering if beaches etc are in walking distance as we won't be driving, or are there hotels nearer to the coast anyone could recommend?

It is possible to walk to the nearest beach of Sa Riera in about 20 mins, but you need to allow longer for the return as its via a steep hill. During August there is a little tourist bus that travels regularly between the town of Begir and Sa Riera, so that would be a great alternative for you.
Like Denise says, there is a shuttle to the beach in summer, it is ok walking down, but a steep walk back. Hotel Rosa looks lovely,as is all of Begur.
You'll have a great honeymoon in Begur and Rosa is perfect for the town if not the beaches, but I would urge you strongly to think again about having a car. There is so much to see in the surrounding area and a car is essential to get around since there is not a bus service worthy of the name. Enjoy your trip.
Rob, I've spent a week each June at Hotel Rosa for the last few years and I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay there. The shuttle bus Denise mentions also runs to the beaches at Aiguablava and Sa Tuna. From Sa Riera there's a coastal path to the Illa Roja and Platja del Raco beaches.
