exchanging money

which would be the best way to exchange my money

1, take sterling over then exchange it to Turkish lira when we get there?

2. use my bank card to take out sterling, then exchange it to Turkish lira?

3. use my bank card to take out Turkish lira

I would be grateful for any suggestions

thanks

Numbers 1 and 2 for me- check what your bank charges before you go.

Maybe take some lira to get you by for a drink or two on the first day.

Option 2 Some banks I believe allow you to draw GB£ abroad without charges - LLoyds Bank is not one of these!

Option 3 - I believe all banks charge you for drawing your money inTL.

Option 1 The risk is loosing or having stolen a large amount of cash whilst you are travelling through busy airports.

Option 2 is the better although I do own up to option 3 as I'm lazy on holiday......

We tend to take sterling and bank card as back up, as we tend to have night flights we only change £20 into lira before we go. For tips etc, then we use Oz gold to change our money while over there
