Getting from Morristown to an airport to fly to Kansas City.

SITUATION: Very shortly, I will be driving a rental truck from Kansas to Morristown (long story). After I return the rental truck, I will need to figure out how I get from Morristown to an airport (Newark? --or, a New York airport?) to fly back to Kansas City (MCI). Is there a bus or shuttle from Morristown to the Newark airport--if so, the cost and where do I get it. --I know there is a train station in Morristown, does a train go to an airport-- when are the train connections? --I have yet to book a flight, so I need to know when and how I get to the airport. Thanks, for any help, --Jaes.

NJ Transit train serves EWR. There will be a transfer required most likely at Secaucus Junction.

Most hassle free method is a car service. Terry's is local and fairly cheap: http://www.terrys-taxi.com/

NEW INFORMATION: -- I looked up cheapest one-way flights from Newark Airport (EWR), because EWR is very close to Morristown, and found that cheapest one-way to Kansas City (MCI) = $328, which is ok BUT the total duration of the flight is 13 hrs & 31 mins. Other flights out of EWR are of similar duration.---Using online search, I found that I can get cheaper and flights with shorter duration out of the New York La Guardia (LGA) airport. Example, one-way LGA to MCI = $179 --total flight duration, 5 hrs & 5 mins. In short, money and timewise, it might make sense for me to get on the train from Morristown to New York La Guardia airport (LGA). So, the QUESTION now becomes: Can anyone tell me the train route and schedule from Morristown to LGA? Will I need to get off the train from Morristown, in NEW York City and transfer to the subway to LGA? (Remember, I am from Kansas-- I know little or nothing about the transport systems). Thanks for any help. ---Jaes.

There is NO train to LGA because LGA does not have a subway stop.

You'd take NJ Transit train into Manhattan. Then once in Manhattan, you have a choice: http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/airport.htm

You'd be spending 2 hours at least.

I wanted to return post to say thank you to "Testudo" and "broadwaynyc" --for taking the time to help. --With broadwaynyc's information, I decided to take the LGA route home. Once I get to Manhattan, I'll figure out the bus to LGA. --Again, thanks. --Jaes.
