Getting Around in the smaller towns

So I have read that most of the attractions are compact enough and centrally located to one another to make doing a lot achievable but I have not seen any posts on getting around the small towns themselves. Can you just park at Mt Rushmore and walk around Keystone for example?

Unfortunately not. Rushmore is right outside the main street/shopping/motel area of Keystone and is up a pretty good hill. Moving your car, however, won't be a big deal, as it will be a very short distance (couple of miles).
