advice re balloon race

Any advice about the October balloon race?

Especially where to view?

& how to get downtown?

(and if driving my car is the only option, the best place to park)

(I'm staying at a B&B outside of the downtown area.)

We went last year and had a great time! We drove (camped out at the state park) and never had a problem with traffic. Tons of free parking at the visitor's center on the Natchez side and across the river. The start/stop of the races depends on winds, so you may not know know very far in advance where to see them. The country station at 95FM was very helpful by announcing where the balloons would be about an hour before the events. Couldn't beat the fairgrounds for the balloon glow Friday night. Good spots we found for the races were from across the bridge in Vidalia, LA-- all along the waterfront over there --and Silver Street was good as well.
