Driving from Tabernacle to airport

We plan to drive from the Tabernacle to the airport around 10 PM at night. Two questions:

1. If we choose to drive via the street (I believe the street south fo the Tabernacle goes directly to the airport), is it a safe area to drive through at night?

2. Is the fastest way to the airport through the street?

Thanks so much!

If you head west on North Temple, it will take you directly to the airport (the road forks when you're almost there, but is well marked. The main road continues to the airport.) It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to get there, but of course you'll want to allow time to return your rental and all that. It is the fastest route from Temple Square because otherwise you'd have to go out of your way to get on I-80.

The area is perfectly safe to drive, but there MIGHT be a few areas where you wouldn't want to stop and stretch your legs at night. Use good judgement and you'll be fine. The Red Iguana, one of the city's most popular Mexican restaurants, is on that road, but it sounds like you'll be heading straight to the airport and won't need to stop to eat.

As noted, that is actually the fastest and it's not a problem at all.

Who is your rental car? Is it at the airport? The off-airport locations are located just off North Temple on the south side of the airport.

Have fun.
