Logan Canyon Drive

I am driving from SLC to Afton, Wyoming for a family reunion this summer and was wondering about the drive through Logan Canyon/Bear Lake. I will be hauling a tent trailer behind my GMC Acadia; how's that drive? Are there a lot of curves and hills? How high is the "pass" and the road coming down into Bear Lake? I should mention that this will be the first time I will be towing anything....

I don't think it's all that bad. Yes, there are a fair number of curves and hills but it's a major U.S. highway. I'm not sure the elevation. It's a beautiful route.

Given that it's your first time, I would take it slow and cautiously, especially coming down into Garden City.

If it eases your mind, truckers go up and down all the time.

It is mostly one lane each way, lots of curves, beautiful, 7,800 ft at the top.

Sunrise campground right before the decline is a wonderful campspot.
