Are most of the attractions/places of interest in the city open on Sunday's?

It depends on which attractions you are interested in. Temple Square is open, CIty Creek shopping is closed. Gateway shopping and restaurants are open. State Capitol is open for tours. Most restaurants will be open. City Library is open (beautiful architecture). City Hall is closed (government). Etc.

Yes and no. Salt Lake is a place that you can find almost anything if you know where to go. It won't be like walking around NYC and just stumbling upon things. Downtown restaurants should largely be open but they may close early. Museums as well. SLC is a 9-5 suburban town so locals won't really be out and about. You will likely have to do some research. Park City will have everything open and running as it is a ski town.
