One Day Visist

Will be in Corpus only 1 day - the day after Thanksgiving. Suggestions for sights, places that we don't want to miss?

Live in corpus for 7 years. Still have my house there. I would say shoreline is your best bet. Not too many have to see places but Shoreline is nice. The water is there, we have a marina, and some nice restarunts. You can google it or it is where interstate 37 starts/ends. have a nice trip.

Don't know what your interests are so I'll give you a little of everything.

Beaches would be a nice leisurely adventure if the weather holds. Take the ferry to Port Aransas and enjoy a walk along the beach and some fresh seafood in one of the restaurants along the water. See the Top Questions box in the upper right hand corner for more info on all our beaches.

Visit the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay if you like WWII history. The Lex is docked at North Beach and is a great experience that can last all day if you want it to. It is an aircraft carrier so you must be able to walk a lot and climb up and down stairs. There is an IMAX type movie theater on the ship also.

Next to the Lex is the Texas State Aquarium. Good for a couple hours with tanks demonstrating sea life indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico.

Across the ship channel is the Museum of Science and History. There you can see life-size replicas of the Columbus ships.

You might be interested in the 40 minute drive to Kingsville to see the world famous King Ranch. They offer guided tours as well as wildlife tours daily. Might want to save some big bucks for the King Ranch Saddle Shop in town where you can buy all kinds of leather goods.

Let me know if you have any specific things I can help you with.
