Log cabin

Hi,

Can anyone advise us of any good log cabins we could rent for 3 nights this summer or are there any ranches we could stop at.

Kind regards,

Bill & Maureen

You should probably try New Mexico Dept. of Tourism, either on line or call. About the only places that might have something like that would be Dude Ranches. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho have a lot of family ranches that might have something like you are looking for, but I don't think that New Mexico has much. Again, try the source I mentioned earlier.

Check the towns of Ruidoso and Cloudcroft in the southern part of the state. There are a number of cabins in that area. Santa Fe does not really have log cabins, mostly adobe style casitas in town.

We are frequently asked about cabin rentals in the Albuquerque, and Santa Fe areas. Unfortunately, there aren't any. I also love cabins, and as was previously stated, you best luck would be in Ruidoso, and Cloudcroft, in the Southern part of New Mexico. There are also a scattering of cabins elsewhere in New Mexico, (Red River, Chama, etc.) but not in the numbers found in these two communities.

The following websites will direct you to guestranches in New Mexico.

I've seen very good reviews for the Geronimo Guest Ranch at Winston, NM (NW of Truth or Consequences off I-25, and 150 miles south of Albuquerque), but it is pretty expensive.

I stayed in one in Ruidoso recently. There's lots of them there, as other posters have said. I found the one I rented through vrbo.com. I just did a quick search using the terms "new mexico log cabin" and it produced 11 results. The cabin I stayed in wasn't one of the results, so that leads me to believe that there are more than just those 11 cabins. Good luck!
