Albuquerque Arbor RV Park

Hi,

Found this one but can't find any reviews. My concern that is may be a perm resident RV Park / trailer Park and not for Tourists. It is in a great location in town (near Rio Rancho). Can anyone advise me on it. Or advise on somewhere else in town / close to town. We are in a 31" M/Home. Thanks

AusJak

I think you are right about it being a perm park. I see it as located on Campbell off Rio Grande Blvd in north valley, not Rio Rancho. Campbell is mixed (as many streets are in north valley) with nice homes at end with access to bosque bike trail. It looked like a trailer park on other side of street from Arbor. Chances don't look good for this location for you. I know of no RV places within city limits. I vaguely remember something at or near Coronado State Monument in Bernalillo and indeed there is something called Coronado Campground which appears to be adjacent to the monument, with hookups, and run by Bernalillo city. Should add there is RV parking near balloon park during balloon fiesta in October.

I'm sure you'll research more but I couldn't find much review of Coronado Campground (as opposed to the monument). One said it was ok; one said there looked to be some RVs that had been there a while & questioned some facilities; one just loved the location.

Oh, then thought about RV parking at casinos. Several in and around area and facilities may be anywhere from allowed but no hookups to very nice. Take a look at what may be available at Isleta (now Hard Rock). They have something called Isleta Lakes and RV Park. I'm betting that's good and you are close to ABQ from the south.

There are 2 RV parks on the west side of Albuquerque at the top of 9 mile hill; that's where I-40 and Route 66 merge going west.

On the south side of I-40 is AmericanRV Park, and on the north is Enchanted Trails RV Park. Both of these are good, clean parks, with easy access to I-40 and/or Central Ave (Rt. 66)

As to the casinos: Isleta Lakes Casino (now Hard Rock) has a nice campground near the casino and golf course on the south side of Albuq.

KOA has a nice campground just off the first exit to Bernalillo, going north, off I-25.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like knowledgeable advice. So glad.

(There used to be, and may still be, KOA on east Central in ABQ but I never recommend that area.)

Thanks to everyone for your tips. Never would have thought of RV parks at the casinos... We are there in mid April with kids, trying to get somewhere where there is a nice park, grass ect... I know it is the desert.LOL. Iwill look again, a lot of the reviews for some other parks mentioned in the forum weren't very promising...

Figuring you must be touring SW USA in RV and saw your map with lots of spots you plan to visit. You have Santa Fe and think I've heard of a few places up there, too. Mid April is borderline season for mountain areas. Have been to some nice RV places in Red River (Roadrunner), Show Low, AZ (Fool Hollow State Park), Durango, CO. There's RV park at Grand Canyon south rim village. (How can that not be on your many places to visit?) I see CA, too. My folks stay at SeaCliff state beach park near Santa Cruz because you park right on the beach. Need rez far in advance. There's a cross country forum on tripadvisor, too, that might be worth a look.

Well, thought there was cross country forum, but now I can't find.

Ah, "Road Trips"

And our NM state parks are pretty good for RVs.

How many places are you planning on visiting while here in the state? There are plenty of places to park your RV depending on what you are planning on doing.
