Casual Dinner for Foodies

We will be touring Colorado in July on our motorcycle and will be in Estes Park for 1 night - a Wednesday night.

We consider ourselves foodies and appreciate fine food and wine. However, since we will be on the motorcycle, our attire will be casual for the trip and we are looking for the best food that we can enjoy while in our jeans.

I've read the reviews but they do not address attire. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Try the Dunraven Inn (on Highway 66 right before the YMCA) . We have been there many times (including this past Saturday). Excellent food as always and quite a few people in jeans. You will need to make a reservation any night of the week in the summer since they are quite popular.

I'd skip Dunraven in summer. We eat there 1-2 times per year, but only in the off-season when it is quiet. The place is ok, but not worthy of long waits, etc.

IMO, the best spots in the valley are Fawnbrook Inn (Allenspark), or Villa Tatra (Pinewood Springs), both around 20 minutes from Estes. Both Eurpoean styled cuisine, and all homemade by the families who run each for 20-30 years. Cascades at Stanley Hotel is pretty good, and many enjoy Twin Owls Steakhouse too.

I think jeans are always okay in restaurants in mountain towns like Estes Park..
