Alternatives to RMNP/Estes Park for the next week or so

So many people have been posting where to go next week questions. Please check this link first for ideas and to ask questions. We all hope that Estes Park and RMNP will be up and running soon, but right now it is difficult to tell and if you have lodging in the next week I would look elsewhere. Keep checking with the other Trip Advisor info posts at:

Bouncing this up to the top of the forums, as is great info for alternatives.

We are in Crested Butte and the aspens are starting to turn up on the mountains on the way into town.

I was in both Salida and Buena Vista yesterday. We camped for the weekend in Salida. Maybe that will say how pleasant the weather was. Drove to and from Denver via 285 without any troubles at all. Lovely weekend, great hiking! This areas is not affected by the flooding. We saw people fishing, biking, floating, though on personal crafts not commercial rafting. The trees at the very highest elevations just starting to change.

If I could have I would has stayed longer but that silly thing called work gets in the way.

I should have also said that friends in Summit County reported a beautiful weekend there too. Look at the web cams for the golf course at Keystone it looks to be a fantastic morning

I was in Summit County this past weekend looking at property. I was in the in Keystone and Dillon areas primarily. I can tell you that this area has no issues with flooding. I am positive you would find the area a wonderful Colorado destination.

The local paper Denver Post has an excellent map showing rainfall totals http://tinyurl.com/ka4u64e

It will give those needing alternative locations a good idea of which areas to avoid and those areas covered in green dots as areas to consider.
