Need a Place Near Providence (East Side) - First Grandchild

Our first grandchild will arrive anytime now, since they live in a condo we will need a place to stay for a week+. As you are aware things are expensive in that part of the world. Anyone have idea for a clean/reasonabily priced motel, B&B,??? where we could stay for a week or so. they live on the East side and walking to their place on Prospect Street would be the best. Looking for ideas and appreciate input. regards, Rocky and Bates

The Old Court B&B on Benefit St. and Cady House B&B on Power St. are both in walking distance to Prospect Street. I would also consider Extended Stay America in East Providence. Although this accomodation is not in walking distance, it is close and offers many comforts for a longer stay.

You could also try the Marriot on Orms Street or the Biltmore downtown. Not a bad walk to Prospect, but some very steep hills.

Brown University has on campus accommodations (Saunders Inn). I have to say I don't know details, but it might be worth giving them a call to see if they rent out to non-Brown associated folks. Check out "Visit Brown" on the brown.edu website.

We are still waiting for the baby and have found a place to rent for several months, much less expensive than hotels or B&Bs. Thanks for your help. It is a tough place to find a reasonably priced place. Regards, Rocky and Bates

We just got our 13th grandchild 2 weeks ago! Good luck to you and yours. Just wondering what you discovered in your research for accommodations in Providence. I am a school teacher, my husband a microbiologist, living in St. George, Utah. We are planning a "see the fall colors" trip Oct. 10-14. Please pass on any fun affordable places to stay that might have come your way. Thanks, enjoy that baby!

We have stayed at a beautiful inn on the Providence /Cranston line the Historic Edgewood Manor quite beautiful and very close to Roger Williams Park and Zoo we loved it. They have another b&b next door the Charles Newhall House as well. Lots of parking and close enough to all the great restaurants as well.
