Christmas In Tucson

Back for our second Christmas in Tucson. Beside our brunch reservation at Loew's for Christmas day, can anyone offer some other suggestions on special Christmas week events either in Tucson or close by? Many thanks.

There is always the Winterhaven Festival of Lights.

I, too, will be in Tucson later this week. A couple questions about the Festival Of Lights. 1) Is it a complete mob scene (masses of people), or more restrained? 2) Would you recommend walking or taking one of the wagons/trolleys? 3) Is there a best time to go (right at sunset, or a little later in the evening)? Thanks.

It can get crowded, but not a huge mob scene. It will probably be somewhat less crowded on the 26th and 27th. I would take one of the trolleys, avoid the drive-through nights, and go later in the evening, after it is completely dark.

I made the mistake of going to the Dominos on Fort Lowell and Country Club tonight at about 615 PM and westbound Ft Lowell was backed up and bumper-to-bumper so Winterhaven is definitely impacting traffic.
