Summer no, winter yes. Too much to see and do away from downtown.

Menger is interesting, has lots of history and the best bar around. But if you are wanting a luxury hotel, there is only one, the Watermark.

There are no Hotels here that are breathtaking..With that in mind,I would go for who has the best Presidential suite with a view...I also Need a balcony room...I attended a hospitality years ago at the Marriott Rivercenter...I recall it was on the 17'th floor with a wrap around balcony..That would be nice...

La Mansion is like a classy older lady..Hotel is a little worn around the edges..If you stay be sure to get a riverwalk room with a balcony...It is now owned by Omni, who also owns the sister property across the street(Watermark)..Have you checked out the Valencia?..

Before the opening of the Watermark a couple of years ago, La Mansion del Rio was probably the most luxurious. Since that time, the Mansion has declined in ratings on lots of lists, and management has been taken over by the Omni hotel group. For example, La Mansion Del Rio is now only a 3-star hotel in the Mobil guide along with a slew of others, while the Watermark, at 4 stars, is the only SA hotel earning more than 3 stars. Both are 4-diamond on AAA lists.

Guess I'm like La Mansion- classy older lady, worn around the edges!! Valencia seemed a little too "sleek" for me. I will deide between Watermark and La Mansion. I appreciate all the input. Now can anyone recommend the best place for steak, we will not have a car.
