how long do things take

I am trying to come up with an iternary for our first trip to san antonio and are wondering if anyone can tell me how long each thing will take approximately:

River cruise tour

Brackenridge park -

train ride

zoo

japanese gardens

writte museum

el mercardo

the alamo & other mission , along with the imax

buckhorn saloon

natural bridge caverns and animals

wonder world

enchanted springs

also, any suggestions on which of the 3 of the above would be best?

Any other attractions we might want to see and how long they might take.

Your welcome.

How many (and which) days will you be in SA?

I might be able to help a little more with best times for your activities.

Do you have hotel res?

We have reservations at the Drury inn & suites riverwalk. We will be there from Friday March 26th through Wednesday March 31st and then we are heading over to either Corpus christi or Galveston ( haven't decided yet) . We are traveling with 2 teenage girls and also plan on doing Sea World . I just hope we have enough time to do everything we want to in San Antonio. We will skip Natural Bridge if we have to.

Since your staying on Riverwalk, I would suggest doing the Buckhorn and Alamo one morning, then the rest of the Missions. That sould get you to late afternoon and then you can do the river cruise and eat dinner somewhere on the river. (Decent AND cheap Tex/Mex at Mexican Manhatten or Casa Rio).

Next morning would be good for Brackenridge Park (Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Witte Museum and Train). When your done there head over to El Mercado (Closes at 6pm or 8pm) and then eat dinner at Mi Tierra (open 24 hours).

Sea World will be a full day.

Any other specifics just ask.

That sounds great ! Should we see the Imax before doing the missions?

Work in the IMAX when you can.

Alamo is open 10-5 I believe and the other Missions prob the same. Buckhorn is 11-6 I think.

River cruise will be open all day and much of the night. It will be less crowded before 6pm.

Unless you are a geologist, skip Wonder World. Its a fault line cavern, with no formations. If you want a fault line cavern with formations then head to Cascade Caverns near Boerne. Also Cave Without a Name is just past Boerne, IMO the best of the three is the SA area. Natural Bridge is the most developed and more folks go there. If you want a long drive try Caverns of Sonora, IMO the best in the State.

The Missions + Alamo is a good half day with car.

You might want to look at the McNay or SAMA also

The Missions - Start at the South end and work your way North ending at the Alamo you can finish up by noon that way. Starting out at the Alamo and heading south you will have to start later and end later taking up more of your day.

Why do you have to start later if you start at the Alamo?
