Zagat's New List of San Antonio's Top 10 Restaurants

Quote below is from 12/2012 issue of San Antonio Biz Journal and the URL below is a slide show they made of the Top 10 and their info:

When people think of San Antonio cuisine, the first thought that pops into their minds might be that steamy hot plate of their favorite Tex-Mex.

However, San Antonio’s culinary palate extends far beyond a sizzling plate of fajitas and gooey enchiladas. In fact, the city is home to a number of top-rated restaurants that serve some of the best American, Brazilian, French, Italian and Mexican delights.

Zagat has released its latest list of best restaurants in San Antonio as rated by diners based on the food, and the Business Journal has produced a slideshow of some of the top-ranked spots.

Also agree with Collieguy, good choices in SA but lacking diversity compared to Austin.

NY city is roughly 10 times the size of SA, huge gateway for immigrants for all over the world - you comparing apples to lemons - pun intended.

SA also has a HUGE population of working class folks from one particular culture. Very few from that culture would be interested in cuisine from, say, Ethiopia. SA simple cannot support multiple outlets. Austin also has many more folks with higher discretionary spending than SA. Another reason for more expensive dinning alternatives in Austin.
